The Kings had a dud in their first game in the bubble, losing to San Antonio despite 39 points from De’Aaron F0x - I didn’t know he had it in him. Buddy Hield was off for the night shooting just 2-13. The Kings’ chances were already very limited and they might not be able to afford another loss. That game, and a lot of games over the first couple of nights have been higher scoring than expected. Orlando got a win in their first game back, beating up a depleted Nets team to win by 10. They scored 128 points in the win, and it will be interesting to see if that tracks with other games as scoring has been a challenge all season. Bigs off the bench, Khem Birch and Jonathan Isaac, combined to score 28 points, which highlighted how Orlando has advantages in the frontcourt. That is something they should continually emphasize as they try and lock down their position in the East. The Kings don’t have much to play for, and I think their effort will be lacking.
